Fire Alarm & Security Monitoring
Older fire alarm systems are standalone – commonly referred to as “local-only”; they ring an exterior bell and alert at the panel at the presence of smoke or waterflow, but do not communicate with a monitoring agency that is able to identify the condition and dispatch first responders during emergencies.
With the development of the fire code over the years, buildings and their systems are now subject to the requirement of having their premises monitored by a UL-certified central station.
AAA Fire Protection, a UL-certified company and full service fire protection company, is highly regarded in the fire alarm monitoring community as one able to design and/or improve fire alarm systems for monitoring.
Fire Alarm Monitoring Requirements
A monitored fire alarm should send in test timers at minimum once every 24 hours. The alarm system should be services a minimum of once per year.

FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS
WHAT IS A MONITORED FIRE ALARM AND HOW DOES IT WORK?
A monitored fire alarm system is a system that can send signals via phone, cellular, or radio mesh to a central station monitoring company to alert the fire department and or the property management of any abnormal situation for a rapid response.
HOW DOES A MONITORED FIRE ALARM INCREASE YOUR FIRE PROTECTION?
Your fire alarm protection is increased by allowing for the notification to get to Monitoring Station for proper dispatch of authorities in minimal time. Dispatch can put the fire department at your property within 15 minutes of the alarm, depending on location of station. This also will allow your insurance premiums for your building or residence to be lowered, because of this extra level of protection. Having the peace of mind that comes with the knowledge that if there is an emergency, there will be a follow up response regardless of if someone is home or away is priceless.
